Molly Turned 2 Years Old
Posted on Jan 28, 2010

Molly celebrated her second birthday on Jan 15 and she continues to delight us with her antics and personality. She is still the most perfect imperfect little Boston Terrier one could ever want. She loves her Momma best of all and always wants to be in my arms or sitting with me. She often sleeps at my back under the covers to stay warm. When I am working, she constantly wants me to hold her and often won’t stop “pawing” me until I do!

As you know, not too long ago, we added Sadie Mae, a Pug that was re-homed, to our “kennel” and I was a little worried about Molly. At first she was afraid of her and seemed angry and was aggressive towards Sadie who had the nerve to invade her turf. Molly was not a happy camper! But, within a few days, they became bosom buddies! Now, it is quite common to have them wrestling together, play fighting over toys or running amuck through the house. They are best friends and like Molly, Sadie has picked me as her special person, often sleeping at my head. I swear Sadie thinks I’m her biggest and bestest toy! She is so excited when I emerge from sleep or working. She follows me everywhere and sleeps at my feet if she can’t get on my lap.

All three of our dogs have bonded well and get along great. In fact, they sleep together on top of each other all the time. Attached is a picture of Sadie and Molly (best friends) and all three dogs (the girls with Mick) together on a chair in our living room.

We love our dogs and again, thank you for Molly, our Boston wonder dog!

Molly Mugly
Posted on Jun 20, 2008

MollyWe love Molly (left), a Boston Terrier puppy we adopted from the Kennel. Born in January 2008, Molly would not have survived in many situations. But she was blessed to be born at Martin's Double E Kennel, where Erla and Edwin never give up on a living animal no matter how grim things may seem.

Molly was the runt of the litter, born with many problems. Her left eye never developed and it took more time than is usual for the soft spot on her head to close. She wasn't expected to live.

She is a living breathing miracle that we think is just perfect, in spite of her physical imperfections. She has spunk and the word "terrier" (terror?) fits. She is forever annoying Mick, our 2 1/2 year old designer dog (a Brittany Spaniel/Samoyed mix?). Mick and MollyShe attacks him and chases him, bites his back legs and is just plain annoying like any little sister should be. He fights back playfully and is ever so gentle with her.

We are amazed at their loving relationship because Mick is territorial and doesn't like strangers (and sometimes familiar people) coming into our home, a result of his own tough struggle as an abused, neglected pup. As you can see in the photo above, they've bonded.

Molly is definitely the boss in the house. She is feisty, active, smart and funny. As much as Mick hates strangers, she thinks they are coming just to see her. She loves people and is a cuddler. I lovingly call her Molly Mugly because she is so ugly, she's cute ... and she knows she has all of us wrapped around her little paw!

Thank you Edwin and Erla for the blessing of Molly.
